About the position

As a Driving Instructor at Coastline Academy, you will play a crucial role in educating and advising students on the fundamentals of operating a vehicle. This part-time position involves teaching practical driving skills, ensuring students develop confidence behind the wheel, and maintaining a focus on safety. The role includes a paid training program to help you obtain the necessary state certification, and you will conduct lessons in a company-provided vehicle, often during afternoons and weekends to accommodate students' schedules.

Responsibilities

• Teaching practical skills related to all aspects of driving
• Providing instruction on the rules of the road
• Helping students to develop confidence in their driving skills
• Gaining control of the vehicle during emergency situations
• Documenting and reporting on students' progress
• Maintaining timely communication with your supervisor and support team
• Maintaining professionalism with students and fellow team members
• Attending team meetings for updates and ongoing development

Requirements

• A valid State Driver's License in the state you wish to work in
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and reference check
• Must have 10 years of legal driving experience
• A strong safety mindset and strong reasoning ability
• Ability to give clear instruction, coach, communicate effectively to others
• Ability to focus for extended periods of time
