About the position

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team at Always Underground Inc. This full-time position focuses on telecommunications and field service operations, where the ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various telecommunication systems and equipment. The role requires both independent work and collaboration within a team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of services provided to clients.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecommunications equipment including low voltage systems, Ethernet connections, and fiber splicing.
• Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks for aerial installations and maintenance.
• Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Conduct field service activities to resolve customer concerns and ensure satisfaction.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective telecommunication.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure functionality.
• Document all service activities accurately in compliance with company standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in telecommunications or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with telephone systems, low voltage wiring, and Ethernet technology.
• Experience with fiber splicing techniques is a plus.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
• Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction.
• Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with fiber splicing techniques is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 25% (Preferred).
