The Drug Program Specialist 1 position offers an opportunity to advance your pharmacy career through professional inspection and investigative work. This role involves ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations, conducting inspections, and participating in legal proceedings to uphold ethical standards in the profession.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of pharmacies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Gather evidence and issue citations for violations found during inspections.
  • Operate general equipment including computers, mobile phones, copiers, scanners, and cameras.
  • Testify at formal and informal hearings and serve as a witness in judicial proceedings.
  • Provide investigative support by obtaining records and executing legal documents.
  • Prepare reports of activities related to inspections and investigations.
  • Augment investigative teams on selected investigations as needed.
  • Attend training sessions to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • Possession of a license to practice pharmacy issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
  • Ability to meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
