About the position

The Drug Project Coordinator (DPC) role at Alexion Pharmaceuticals is a critical position within the R&D Global Portfolio and Program Management (GPPM) department. The DPC works closely with the Global Program Manager (GPM) and cross-functional teams to maintain project data and ensure high-quality project information. This role involves managing project administrative tasks, supporting project schedule development, and facilitating optimal operations for the Global Program Team (GPT).

Responsibilities

  • Manage project team meeting logistics including scheduling, room bookings, and agenda preparation.
  • Oversee information management tasks such as SharePoint management and document version control.
  • Prepare reports to ensure high data quality in Project Management Systems like Planisware.
  • Coordinate governance presentation logistics and management.
  • Support project risk management activities and track action items to completion.
  • Create and maintain project team distribution lists and onboarding materials for new team members.
  • Prepare monthly reports and track milestones and goals.
  • Apply project management best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with other project coordinators to establish and utilize best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical R&D drug development project coordination or management roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including MS Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and MS Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail for high-quality reporting and document management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information with confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in similar roles.
  • Fundamental understanding of planning software such as Microsoft Project, Planisware, or Smartsheet.
  • Direct experience with Planisware is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of the Drug Development process.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) qualifications or similar formal training preferred.
