About the position

The position involves managing all aspects of distribution facility operations, including shipping, receiving, sanitation, and inventory control. The role focuses on ensuring efficient merchandise flow through the facility while meeting organizational objectives and maintaining a safe work environment. The manager will lead a team of over 40 members, fostering personal growth and development while driving operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, leads, directs, and supervises 40+ team members in day-to-day distribution operations.
  • Trains, develops, and coaches supervisors to achieve desired business results and provide career development plans.
  • Holds leadership team members accountable for established goals and financial metrics.
  • Reviews options for capital projects and determines actions for project advancement.
  • Owns capital projects from start to finish as assigned.
  • Monitors and analyzes costs to ensure the building meets budgetary goals.
  • Makes sound business decisions to drive efficiency while meeting costs.
  • Creates a positive work environment through real-time observation and constructive feedback.
  • Uses team member survey results to develop action items for engagement and positive change.
  • Promotes a team environment that values and supports diversity.
  • Manages effective inventory control methods to ensure correct shipments and delivery times.
  • Identifies areas for improvement within the facility and develops implementation plans.
  • Responsible for productivity and breaking down individual goals by shift, area, and department.
  • Accountable for shift safety, inventory accuracy, production performance, load quality, scheduling, sanitation, and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years of management experience in distribution, warehousing, or supply chain required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Operational knowledge to identify trends and adjust business strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Ability to benchmark, report, and summarize key metrics while accounting for root causes of performance.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and developing direct reports.
  • Working knowledge to meet compliance requirements of Federal and State regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and contracts.
