About the position

Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Process Engineer to join a leading Design company within the Semiconductor industry. The Engineer will define the design criteria, scope definition and justification, development of design concepts, completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design, influencing design standards, construction specifications, and operations requirements. This role will also include the development of project budgets, schedules, and safety requirements, as well as performing conceptual Mechanical engineering analysis for multiple scenarios that can include high-level schedule and/or budget development to help customers and stakeholders make critical business decisions based on time and cost constraints. The Mechanical Process Engineer will manage the performance of the Design Builder's Architectural and Engineering / Owners Design Consultant vendor for Mechanical and Process Mechanical deliverables. They will lead inter-discipline coordination efforts and collaborate closely with other disciplines to ensure delivery of a complete, approved, and coordinated scope across a project. Ensuring that work is being performed code compliant and to Clients Policies and Expectations, such as Client Master Design Specs (IMDS) and Client Master Construction Specs (IMCS), is a critical aspect of this role. Additionally, the Engineer will be responsible for delivering construction projects globally using multiple project delivery and execution strategies at a competitive advantage. They will develop discipline scope and engineering solutions which include schedule, budget, and safety requirements for assigned construction projects. The role also involves interfacing and coordinating with Design, Construction, and internal Client organizations to enable facility design efforts for their area of expertise. Providing input on design reviews, constructability, contractor performance, and coordination with construction resources to manage discipline schedule and budget is essential. The Engineer will ensure the accuracy of estimating tied to the scope of work and linkage to project schedules, manage the budget, forecast trades resources, resolve resource conflicts, and coordinate trades mobilization. As required, they will engage in contract and legal negotiations, incident investigation, safety training, and project assessment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience on new build design and construction of large industrial complexes specific to mechanical systems.
  • Experience managing a project from end to end including working with stakeholders to understand requirements and presenting design solutions.
  • Ability to lead meetings and communicate information back to the team.
  • Managing project roadmap and budget's associated.
  • Dry Mechanical design experience should include HVAC, Fire, and Process Vacuum.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Proficiency with P&ID's, Pipeflo, and BIM.
  • Experience with construction, startup, and turnover of facilities process systems.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, SMACNA & IBC.
  • Proficiency in managing project change control.
  • Ability to interface with a multi-user customer base.
