DSHS Lakeland Village Certified Nursing Assistant/NAC

About the position

The DSHS Lakeland Village is seeking motivated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA/NAC) to work with adults with intellectual disabilities in a supportive and collaborative environment. This role involves assisting residents with daily living activities, personal care, and therapeutic support, while promoting their quality of life. The position offers training opportunities for those not yet certified, making it accessible for individuals passionate about healthcare and support for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, self-help and therapeutic activities, recreation, and social skills.
• Provide personal care and hygiene assistance to male and female residents.
• Take vital signs and report data.
• Assist in meal preparations, adhering to diet orders by differentiating food and liquid textures/consistencies, and assist in feeding residents.
• Document any observed changes in resident behavior, physical status, and possible medical or psychological conditions.
• Reposition and transfer residents using state of the art equipment and a team approach.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or one year of experience working with people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) from the State of Washington or the ability to attend onsite NAC training and pass the Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification Exam.
