About the position

The Department of Social and Health Services is seeking a Journey-Level System Administrator to ensure system and network availability and integrity, providing technical support for IT systems and network infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting complex systems and projects, ensuring minimal downtime, and delivering timely services to clients. The position requires frequent travel to multiple offices for tech support and project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems administration for hardware and software systems including Windows Server 2016, Microsoft Exchange, Intune, and Windows 10.
  • Conduct systems analysis techniques and procedures using technical knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Support remote technologies such as VPN.
  • Maintain and administer multiple networks throughout the Enterprise.
  • Make recommendations to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Monitor and enforce security policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with nine semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses AND four years of relevant IT experience.
  • OR an associate's degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in IT AND six years of relevant IT experience.
  • OR eight years of IT experience, with consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience substituting for education on a 2:1 basis.
  • Three years of experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting Windows 10 workstations or newer, Windows 2012 Server or newer, Microsoft Office, and Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of physical computer components, network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, Active Directory, DNS), and diagnosing connectivity problems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and remote access technology.
