About the position
MediaTek is seeking an exceptional researcher to drive the next generation energy-efficient circuits and systems for communication and computing areas. In this role, you will work on identifying new and novel fundamental technologies, leading a virtual team to hands-on develop key IPs and prototypes, and helping to bring them into production. The ideal candidate is open-minded, forward looking, and balanced with practicality. Experience (may include Ph.D. works) in the related areas is needed. This candidate must be familiar with design and production in nano-meter CMOS technology, and have experience in designing substantial part of wireless or wireline transceivers. You must be well organized and detail oriented. Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical. Within your capacity, you will have total accountability and ownership of tasks.
Responsibilities
- Exploring technology and market opportunities for 4-10 years out
- Pioneering architecture, circuits, algorithms, and systems that are unconventional and ahead of academic research while being able to ramp to production (RTP) in a few years
- Hands-on working on design of new fundamental IPs, test strategies, test setup, package-level integration, PCB, and characterizations
- Setting and maintaining detailed technical specifications and schedules
- Presenting works to both inside and outside the company
- Supporting functional teams to bring the new technology to production
- Working with business units to roll out products with the new technology
- Engage and coordinate with university research for advanced technology development
Requirements
- PhD in the related area or MS Electronic Engineering with 5+ years of work experience
- Knowledge and skills in digital signal processing with understanding of fixed point implementation
