About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with various needs. This role is an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others while working in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals in their homes, focusing on their daily living needs, personal care, and overall well-being.
• Assist with meal preparation, including planning and preparing meals that cater to individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, to ensure overall health and wellness.
• Offer support with hospice care, including managing pain and providing emotional support to individuals and their families.
• Provide patient care that is tailored to the individual's unique needs, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and providing first aid when necessary.
• Assist with household chores, including laundry, cleaning, and meal cleanup.
• Work effectively with individuals with autism, providing a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters independence and confidence.
• Lift and move heavy objects, including furniture and equipment, as needed.
• Provide support with home care, including managing medications, providing personal care, and assisting with mobility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in direct care, preferably with individuals with autism or other disabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.

Nice-to-haves

• First aid certification preferred.
• Experience with meal preparation and hospice care is a plus.
