About the position

The Program Coordinator (PC) at Gateway Residential Services is responsible for providing person-centered services and supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves overseeing daily operations at a Supported Living site, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting independence among residents. The PC plays a crucial role in mentoring and coaching staff while managing the overall quality of services provided to enhance the lives of the individuals supported.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations as indicated in 460 IAC 6 and Gateway policies.
  • Supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Complete quarterly Performance Observation Logs.
  • Assist the Program Director with disciplinary procedures and performance appraisals.
  • Train DSPs on individual-specific needs and risk protocols.
  • Manage staffing schedules to ensure full coverage 7 days a week.
  • Prepare and submit required paperwork including monthly reports and individual budgets.
  • Ensure incident reporting is completed in compliance with policies.
  • Coordinate meal planning and grocery shopping within budget.
  • Maintain a safe and secure home environment through monthly safety checks.
  • Communicate safety concerns to the Program Director promptly.
  • Coordinate monthly emergency drills and ensure maintenance requests are submitted.
  • Manage medication and medical supplies in the home.
  • Assist with planning Meaningful Day Calendars and transportation to appointments.
  • Provide on-call support after regular business hours.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of direct experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to apply sound, mature decisions.
  • Willingness to work a diverse schedule based on the needs of the individuals supported.
  • Current Driver's License and auto insurance.
  • Reliable vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in caregiving and leadership roles.
  • Ability to lift items weighing at least 75 pounds.
