About the position

The Store Associate at DSW is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to in-store shoppers and those engaging through omni-channel services. This role involves assisting customers, managing merchandise, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Store Associates act as brand ambassadors, ensuring a positive shopping experience while adhering to company policies and values.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach.
• Share the benefits of the DSW Loyalty program and enroll new members.
• Answer questions regarding products and complete customer transactions.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe shopping environment.
• Receive inbound freight and prepare merchandise for the sales floor.
• Complete all functions of the fulfillment process including locating items and packaging for delivery.
• Follow all asset protection policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily team meetings and ongoing training.

Requirements

• Must have availability to meet the needs of the business.
• Professional, friendly, and customer service focused.
• Ability to move with tempo to meet time bound expectations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in use of technology to engage in customer interactions.
• Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or walking around the store.
• Ability to lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds occasionally to frequently.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently.

• Previous retail experience is a plus but not required.
