About the position

The Store Associate at DSW provides exceptional customer service to in-store shoppers and those using omni-channel services. This role involves assisting customers, managing merchandise, and ensuring a clean and safe shopping environment. Store Associates act as brand ambassadors, embodying the company's values and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, assessing their needs and providing personalized service.
• Share the benefits of the DSW Loyalty program and enroll new members.
• Answer product-related questions and complete customer transactions for in-store sales and digital orders.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe shopping environment by performing regular cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Receive inbound freight and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to DSW standards.
• Complete all functions of the fulfillment process, including locating items and ensuring readiness for pick up/delivery.
• Use company tools to search for product availability and assist customers in ordering.
• Follow DSW's policies and procedures during customer transactions, ensuring accuracy in money handling.
• Partner with the Customer Experience Leader (CEL) to address escalated customer service issues.
• Actively participate in team meetings and ongoing training, demonstrating teamwork and inclusivity.

• Proficient in using technology for customer interactions, including registers and mobile devices.
• Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or walking around the store.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on a frequent basis.
