About the position

The Store Supervisor at DSW plays a crucial role in supporting store management by overseeing customer service, merchandising, and inventory management to drive sales and enhance the overall shopping experience. This position requires collaboration with the management team to prioritize store operations and ensure compliance with company policies and standards. The Store Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a positive in-store environment and assisting in various operational tasks, including opening and closing the store.

Responsibilities

• Assist in customer service by modeling CEL behaviors and responding to customer feedback with urgency.
• Maintain DSW store standards to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Complete daily opening and closing tasks, including store cleaning and maintenance.
• Communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals to the team and assign tasks accordingly.
• Supervise and participate in inventory management activities, including freight receipt and markdowns.
• Ensure a safe environment for customers and associates by maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Support the store leadership in recruiting and training associates.
• Provide feedback on associate performance and assist in managing payroll activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of retail experience.
• Some college preferred.
• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
• Proficiency in basic computer use, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive mindset.
• Ability to manage in ambiguous situations and resolve conflicts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate others.
