About the position

The General Manager at PAH Management is responsible for ensuring hotel profitability through effective revenue generation, cost control, and guest satisfaction. This role involves developing employees, maintaining hotel integrity, and fostering a positive team-oriented environment. The General Manager plays a key role in hotel sales efforts and oversees various operational aspects to ensure a high standard of service and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on top ten accounts and meeting clients.
  • Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focused on guest satisfaction through employee development.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions presented by department managers.
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate-sponsored programs.
  • Inspect rooms regularly with the Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer.
  • Ensure complete processing of invoices daily using the A/P process.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Forecast the hotel's financial position by estimating revenues and expenses.
  • Prepare and conduct all management interviews and follow hiring procedures.
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
  • Be present in public areas during peak times to greet guests and offer assistance.
  • Ensure procedures for handling the hotel safe are followed and monthly audits occur.
  • Complete required corporate training modules and become certified to train as required.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year college degree with 4-5 years of related experience, or a 2-year college degree with 5-6 years of related experience.
  • General Management experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license for the applicable state.
