About the position
P&E Mechanical Contractors, LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Duct Fabricator for their sheet metal shop. The role involves fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment for HVAC ductwork projects, ensuring adherence to production quality standards and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will manage projects from start to finish, utilizing their expertise in blueprint reading and fabrication to produce high-quality sheet metal products.
Responsibilities
- Set up equipment based on specific fabrication specifications
- Perform final assembly to produce high-quality finished products
- Cut, grind, machine, and form work-pieces accurately, including sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel, and angle
- Examine completed work for defects and measure pieces with straightedges and templates to ensure conformance with specifications
- Work collaboratively with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and fabrication
- Experience with power tools and ductwork
- Ability to work with sheet metal and calipers
- Knowledge of basic math and mechanical concepts
