About the position

The Duty Manager, Customer Operations at Piedmont Airlines is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of below-the-wing functions, including baggage and cargo handling, cabin maintenance, and the operation of motorized vehicles and equipment. This role requires a motivated and reliable professional with previous airline management experience and knowledge of Airport Operations Area (AOA) environments. The position emphasizes leadership, team development, and adherence to company policies and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations while keeping company goals and customer expectations in mind.
• Coach and provide career development to the team.
• Correct non-compliant behavior and impose disciplinary action as required.
• Implement corporate culture, policies, and goals into daily work routines.
• Manage operational activities of the department in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Manage a team with varied duties including unit managers, supervisors, and agents.
• Perform administrative duties including daily/weekly/monthly reports.

Requirements

• Previous airline management experience and working knowledge of AOA environment.
• Proven success as a Team Leader with ability to preplan manpower and equipment.
• Ability to work independently, set and meet own deadlines.
• Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff.
• Able to defuse conflicts among team members.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexible schedule.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous management experience in a hub environment.
• Extensive knowledge of QIK, Sabre.
• Bachelor's degree in aviation, business, or another related field.
