About the position

The Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team Advocate at Multnomah County is responsible for providing trauma-informed advocacy and strength-based case management services to survivors of domestic violence who are at high risk for lethality or severe recidivism. This role involves collaboration with law enforcement and participation in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive support to survivors and their families, while also holding perpetrators accountable.

Responsibilities

  • Crisis response and advocacy that is trauma informed and survivor led
  • Follow-up safety planning and support
  • Outreach and community education
  • Participation in meetings, training and case staffing
  • Reporting and documentation of statistics and other information

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or a related field
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in direct service to clients harmed by domestic violence
  • Completion of the 40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training from the State of Oregon or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check with Multnomah County and an additional in-depth background check with the Portland Police Bureau
