About the position

The DWI Compliance Officer performs a variety of technical administrative duties to monitor and ensure compliance of DWI offenders and domestic violence defendants with court-ordered judgments and penalties. Under the direction of the DWI Coordinator, the officer will be trained in basic office safety and required to follow AOC guidelines and accreditation standards. The position is full-time and non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Responsibilities

  • Receives court judgments and develops client relationships.
  • Processes clients through intake phases and establishes compliance guidelines.
  • Monitors court docketing and case scheduling; attends arraignments and plea hearings.
  • Develops individual compliance plans based on court judgments and meets with clients.
  • Provides client education related to court-ordered services and assists with client services.
  • Refers clients to local service providers including counseling and DWI School.
  • Monitors client compliance with performance plans and tracks attendance.
  • Conducts weekly visits and performs random UAs for intensive supervision clients.
  • Communicates with judges and court personnel regarding case details.
  • Collaborates with court staff and District Attorney's Office on compliance matters.
  • Maintains various client records and conducts background checks.
  • Organizes and participates in DWI public relations and prevention education events.
  • Operates personal computer and various software applications for tracking and reporting.
  • Assists in filing injury reports and managing Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Participates in monthly DWI Council and Safety Committee meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Some coursework in general office practice and procedures.
  • Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures.
  • Must possess a valid New Mexico State Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of responsible experience performing related duties.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
