About the position

The DXA Radiology Technologist at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures, assisting patients, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This full-time position offers a supportive environment focused on whole-person care, with a commitment to professional growth and community service.

Responsibilities

• Performs Radiographic imaging procedures and positions, moves, and assists patients.
• Conducts clerical duties including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
• Educates patients concerning exams and screens for contrast allergies.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and properly, minimizing radiation exposure.
• Maintains a clean and organized room, stocked with necessary supplies.
• Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and ensures images meet standards.
• Performs basic patient care, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring comfort and safety.
• Adheres to infection control standards and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Performs Radiology duties in various departments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent two years of experience in a related field.
• Graduate of accredited Radiologic Science program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of Radiologic Technology training and A.R.R.T. registration.
• General Radiographer state license as required by state (KS LRT).
