About the position

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Dynamics/Environmental Test Engineer specializing in Shock, Vibe, Acoustics, and Thermal Testing to join our team in Kent, Washington. This contract position involves developing and executing test plans, procedures, and scripts for a variety of environmental tests on high and low voltage flight hardware. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting verification testing, which includes power-on, functional, acceptance, and qualification tests, and documenting the results for power distribution, regulation, and conversion hardware. In this role, you will support the integration of vehicle hardware and the analysis tooling necessary to verify the performance and requirements of units under test. You will also be tasked with debugging and troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a lab environment, as well as supporting integration and test activities, including wiring, hardware installation, and test bench setup. Participation in design and system reviews will be essential to provide feedback on integration and testability throughout all project phases. Additionally, you will engage in program-level technology development, mission assurance, safety initiatives, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience. A strong understanding of electronics hardware development, particularly in high voltage switching and power regulation, is crucial. Experience with analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design, signal integrity, and general board layout principles is also required. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python, as well as experience with NI Labview/TestStand, is essential for success in this position. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, procedures, and scripts to perform shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, and vacuum testing on high and low voltage flight hardware.
  • Conduct verification testing that includes power-on, functional, acceptance, and qualification tests, and document test results for high and low voltage distribution, power regulation, and conversion hardware.
  • Support the integration of vehicle hardware and analysis tooling necessary to verify the requirements and performance of units under test.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a lab environment.
  • Support integration and test activities including wiring, hardware installation, and test bench setup.
  • Participate in design and system reviews to provide feedback on integration and testability throughout all phases of the project.
  • Participate in program level technology development, mission assurance and safety initiatives, and development process improvements.

Requirements

  • B.S. in electrical engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • A breadth of understanding in electronics hardware development such as testing high voltage switching, high voltage and power regulation, or other advanced electronic commercial or aerospace products
  • Experience with analog, digital or mixed-signal circuit design, including analysis, simulation, test, troubleshooting, and part selection
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles
  • Experience developing special electronic test equipment and troubleshooting equipment
  • Proficient in the use of standard electronic lab tests and troubleshooting equipment
  • Experience with programming in C++ and/or Python
  • NI Labview / TestStand experience
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
