About the position

Dillard's is seeking an experienced Front End Developer who is both highly motivated and technically skilled, with a passion for collaboration in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in React and will be adept at solving complex user experience challenges for Dillard's e-commerce website. As the company transitions from React to Next.js, the candidate will need to adapt to this change while continuing to deliver high-quality code. In this role, you will be part of a large team of developers responsible for the code development and quality assurance of the www.dillards.com website. This team also supports several in-house applications that assist business teams in managing content and products on the site. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining applications primarily using React, JavaScript, and CSS. You will collaborate with other team members and business teams to ensure the delivery of the best possible product. Your role will involve researching problems, making accurate code changes promptly, testing all changes, and following up to ensure that the desired results are achieved. You will also be expected to learn the business environment and collaborate with both internal and external teams to enhance the overall user experience on the site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications primarily in React, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Collaborate with team members and business teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Research problems and make accurate code changes promptly.
• Test all changes and follow up to ensure desired results are achieved.
• Learn the business environment and collaborate with internal and external teams.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience as a Front End Developer.
• Advanced skills in JavaScript, CSS 3 or higher, HTML5, and Bootstrap.
• Extremely detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Adaptable to changing needs and priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with React 14 or higher.
• Experience creating React class components and using React lifecycle hooks.
• Experience creating React functional components using React Hooks.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and npm.
• Hands-on experience with Webpack.
• Experience using Figma, AdobeXD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
