About the position

The E-commerce Data & Business Insights Analyst position is designed for a data-driven professional who will transform complex data into actionable insights to enhance product performance across various e-commerce platforms. This role involves analyzing website traffic, user behavior, and sales data to inform business decisions, optimize revenue, and track key performance indicators. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic recommendations and improve customer experience through data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to website traffic, user behavior, and online sales to uncover insights and trends.
  • Analyze ASIN performance metrics, historical sales data, and seasonal trends to inform business decisions.
  • Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis, evaluating pricing strategies, product offerings, and promotional tactics of top sellers across multiple e-commerce platforms.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth through in-depth analysis of sales performance, market trends, and customer behavior.
  • Design and implement pricing strategies based on competitor analysis and historical sales data to ensure competitive positioning.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including conversion rates, revenue, and customer acquisition costs, to assess the effectiveness of online campaigns and strategies.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports that present data insights in a clear and consumable format for stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Track Best Seller Rank (BSR) metrics and other KPIs to assess product performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and web development, to provide actionable insights and recommendations for product buy-in, inventory management, and e-commerce strategies.
  • Innovate to improve customer experience by identifying process and system improvement opportunities through data analysis.
  • Design and develop automated data pipelines and reporting solutions that enhance decision-making and process improvement.
  • Utilize analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, and visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to retrieve and analyze large data sets.
  • Take ownership of reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and reliability while addressing any data discrepancies with a high degree of customer focus.
  • Build and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to benchmark reporting processes and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Marketing, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in e-commerce or retail environments.
  • Proven experience as an Ecommerce Analyst or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of data-driven achievements.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and 3rd party software (Helium10, Seller Scout, Keepa).
  • In-depth understanding of the Amazon marketplace, including knowledge of BSR, ASIN optimization, and the competitive landscape.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex data findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce best practices, online consumer behavior, and industry trends.
