About the position

The Consultant role in eDiscovery & Data Forensics at AlixPartners involves project management within the eDiscovery practice, focusing on the collection, analysis, and management of electronic evidence for litigation and investigations. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and client-facing skills to implement effective e-discovery protocols and ensure the accessibility of electronic files for potential litigation. Responsibilities

  • Implement protocols for the e-discovery life cycle, including internal standards and best practices for preservation and collection of electronic evidence.
  • Find, compile, organize, categorize, and verify case-critical data across the full life cycle of the eDiscovery process.
  • Master a range of industry standard software tools to perform custom solutions to client requirements.
  • Identify and address client needs, actively participate in client discussions and meetings.
  • Advise clients on data collection for large scale litigation cases, including document retention and chain-of-custody procedures.
  • Create and manage large data sets.
  • Use a problem-solving approach to overcome unexpected technical and operational challenges.
  • Ensure clients' electronic files are easily accessible for potential litigation.
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues in written and oral form, including drafting reports and presentations to clients.
  • Perform quality control review over work product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Preferred 1 - 2 years of professional or consulting experience, or relevant internship experience or coursework.
  • Preferred working experience with tools such as EnCase, Cellebrite, BlackBag, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic, Microsoft .NET framework, Microsoft Access, SQL, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes/Domino, Relativity, Brainspace.
  • Experience working on litigation cases alongside forensic accounting and legal teams.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to engage technically while also bringing commercial acumen and client facing confidence.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours as unique projects/needs arise.
