About the position

The eDiscovery Project Manager at Morrison & Foerster LLP plays a crucial role in managing eDiscovery projects within the Litigation team. This position involves consulting with case teams to develop and implement eDiscovery project plans, ensuring compliance with firm protocols, and acting as a liaison between legal teams and technical staff. The role requires a strong focus on resource management, vendor oversight, and the promotion of efficient eDiscovery practices.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with case teams to develop and apply technical strategies for eDiscovery Project Plans.
  • Document eDiscovery project plans including workflows, role assignments, and process improvements.
  • Ensure standard procedures for eDiscovery and litigation support projects are applied consistently.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for eDiscovery and litigation support issues.
  • Consult with clients' General Counsel and IT regarding eDiscovery-related issues.
  • Develop cost estimates and advise on efficiencies and cost reductions.
  • Evaluate the use of firm and client resources to apply lessons learned from projects.
  • Assist legal teams with technical components of trial preparation.
  • Oversee the creation of statistical reports on eDiscovery processes.
  • Design workflows and manage review projects for efficiency.
  • Develop eDiscovery data processing specifications for vendors.
  • Lead internal operational initiatives for process improvement in eDiscovery Resource Management.
  • Promote the use of internal and external resources in eDiscovery phases.
  • Consult on the selection of eDiscovery vendors and software solutions.
  • Delegate workflow tasks to analysts and vendors.
  • Train case teams on litigation support technology and workflows.
  • Oversee the vendor lifecycle including bid process and invoice management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or eight years of relevant experience required.
  • Five years of eDiscovery project management experience required.
  • Minimum four years of experience in eDiscovery consulting required.
  • Two years of law firm experience preferred.
  • Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Application Service Providers (ASPs) and tools, especially Relativity.
  • Proficient with industry analytics solutions like Relativity Analytics and Brainspace.
  • Consult on implementation of TAR and advanced analytics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of database operations and manipulation of load files.
  • Understanding of information technology and network infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage technical issues with eDiscovery providers.
