About the position

The position involves managing the validation, integration, and launch viability of electronic/electrical (E/E) technical content for new product launches at BMW Manufacturing. The role requires leading root-cause analysis of vehicle electrical systems, collaborating with global teams to ensure product quality, and innovating testing methods. The individual will develop test plans, execute them, and provide documentation of E/E issues while representing the department in global operations. Continuous improvement and adherence to safety standards are also key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the validation, integration, and launch viability of E/E technical content for new product launches.
  • Lead root-cause analysis of pre-series and series produced vehicles.
  • Conduct complex vehicle electrical systems analysis and test activities.
  • Collaborate with team members and process partners to ensure product quality.
  • Innovate new methods for testing and validation within the technical content area.
  • Develop and provide test plans according to function maturity implementation plans.
  • Execute test plans as new hardware or software are introduced.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and document E/E issues.
  • Represent the department within global plant network operations teams as an expert.
  • Summarize test and validation results for reporting purposes.
  • Coordinate with local Test Manager & FT-Ops in variant planning.
  • Evaluate solutions provided by suppliers and confirm effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal process partners to ensure production quality specifications are met.
  • Provide technical guidance on E/E related topics to internal and external partners.
  • Promote BMW Manufacturing principles and values in daily activities.
  • Facilitate Plant-wide processes for Problem-Solving Teams and Cross-System Teams.
  • Adhere to 5S and Safety Standards.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Automotive preferred) or international equivalent.
  • 4 years of professional experience in Engineering/Product Development, Automotive electrical systems analysis, IT/Computer Science, or Manufacturing Quality.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Engineering/Product Development or related fields.
  • 2+ years of professional project or team leadership experience.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing per BMW vehicle program required.
  • 5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
  • 3+ years of documentation, analytical writing, and presentation skills.
  • 3+ years of ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • 1+ years of project leadership skills.
  • 1+ years of skills in process development with internal & external organizations.
