About the position

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer role at Sterling involves working on design and drafting tasks within industrial or refinery settings. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, with responsibilities including creating and updating various engineering drawings and performing field walkdowns as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Create field sketches for engineering activities and convert them to AutoCAD files.
• Modify and update existing refinery drawings to meet project needs.
• Perform field walkdowns for layout, reviews, and verifications of design work.
• Create and update Instrument Loop Drawings, Terminal cabinet drawings, DCS drawings, and other related documentation.
• Understand and create Motor schematics, Power Plans, Grounding Plans, Lighting Plans, and Panel schedules.
• Develop Electric Trace Isometrics, Conduit and cable schedules, and Electrical single lines.
• Prepare Area Classification drawings.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in design and drafting in an industrial or refinery setting.
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD.
• Experience working at a client’s site or in industrial settings.
