This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical and electronic systems within the manufacturing environment. As an E&I Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance procedures on various equipment, including corrugator machinery. You will utilize your expertise to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams to ensure compliance with electrical codes. Your role will also involve installing electrical and electronic components, as well as troubleshooting power distribution equipment and basic electrical control circuits. In addition to technical skills, you will be expected to use various tools and equipment, including laptops for programming and test equipment such as oscilloscopes to diagnose and repair electrical systems. This position offers a competitive salary range of $33-35 per hour, with a night shift schedule from 5 PM to 5 AM, every other weekend off, and opportunities for overtime. Responsibilities

  • Use equipment, manuals, and drawings to troubleshoot, repair, and perform established preventive maintenance procedures including inspections and calibration of equipment.
  • Read and understand electrical drawings such as schematics, ladder diagrams, wiring diagrams, and installation and general arrangement diagrams.
  • Install electrical and electronic equipment, components, and apparatus of industrial machinery and equipment in compliance with electrical code and in accordance with equipment specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair power distribution equipment and hardware components such as outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, distribution wiring, and disconnect switches.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical control circuits including AC/DC control voltage, operator interface components, and hardware control components.
  • Use a laptop computer to load/download programs to programmable logic controllers and programmable drive units.
  • Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes and laptops to troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have 5 years of industrial electrician experience.
  • Electronic certification and certification on PLCs are required.
  • Experience in programming PLCs is an asset.
  • Skills and experience in basic electrical safety, basic industrial electricity principles and concepts, AC/DC motors and machinery, and electrical troubleshooting are essential.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and the use of voltage testers, digital multi-meters, and clamp-on ammeters.
