About the position

The E-Learning Instructional Designer and LMS Administrator at the Michigan Judicial Institute is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and administering asynchronous learning modules on the MJI Learning Management System. This role involves collaboration with subject-matter experts to create engaging online courses, manage content delivery, and ensure high-quality e-learning experiences for judicial staff and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop online self-study courses and asynchronous learning modules.
• Create visual storyboards, draft narration, and develop knowledge check activities.
• Edit video content and manage a multi-step review process for e-learning materials.
• Build and maintain client relationships by delivering exceptional e-learning opportunities.
• Teach staff and faculty to use instructional technology effectively.
• Propose curricula for specific categories of learners, including judges and court support staff.
• Serve as one of two principal administrators for the LMS.
• Assist with MJI webpage updates and other technical projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, mathematics, computer science, instructional design, educational technology, or related field.
• Minimum of two years' instructional design experience with adult learning theories and instructional design methods.
• Experience with online course development tools (e.g., Articulate) and learning management systems (e.g., Docebo).
• At least two years of SCORM development experience for learning.

Nice-to-haves

• Expert proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere).
• Knowledge of web design technologies such as HTML, JAVA, or JAVA Script.
