The eLearning Instructional Designer at The Toro Company plays a crucial role in enhancing the training and educational experiences for both internal and external customers. This position involves conducting thorough performance and training needs analyses to identify gaps and create effective training solutions that align with the company's products, services, and systems. The designer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training materials to ensure they meet the needs of various stakeholders, including cross-functional teams and external customers such as dealers and vendors. In this role, the designer will actively seek input from stakeholders to adapt training interventions to meet evolving business requirements. Collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) from different departments, such as Technical Solutions and Customer Service, is essential to develop comprehensive documentation and performance support tools. The designer will also be tasked with measuring the return on investment (ROI) for the training programs developed, ensuring that the training initiatives are effective and beneficial. Utilizing knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories, the designer will recommend appropriate methodologies and technologies for training delivery, which may include classroom training, e-learning, and print-based materials. The role requires the development of templates and tools to maintain consistency across training materials, as well as reviewing existing materials to ensure instructional soundness. Project management skills are vital, as the designer will need to communicate project scopes, timelines, and resource requirements effectively. Additionally, the designer will be expected to stay updated on new instructional design methods and industry trends, driving continuous improvement initiatives within the department. This position is based in Bloomington, MN, with a hybrid work schedule that includes a minimum of three days on-site each week.
