About the position

The Learning & Development Specialist Advisor at GDIT is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-impact enterprise learning and skill development programs for a workforce of nearly 30,000 employees. This role focuses on creating engaging, technology-based learning experiences that enhance employee performance and ensure stakeholder satisfaction. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to align learning objectives with business goals and to produce measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Balance the workload of multiple L&D Projects according to established timelines.
  • Facilitate L&D Design Project kickoffs and milestone meetings with Business Sponsors.
  • Conduct discovery activities to determine desired performance outcomes and existing performance gaps.
  • Solicit insights from subject-matter experts to inform learning design.
  • Determine ideal multimedia techniques to maximize engagement and achieve learning objectives.
  • Communicate connections between program content and desired performance outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Design program events and learning activities, ensuring relevance and engagement.
  • Develop all program assets including e-learning courseware, facilitation guides, and job aids.
  • Establish measurement and monitoring plans for effective program implementation.
  • Ensure all learning solutions meet accessibility and usability standards.
  • Collaborate with the L&D Delivery Team for program hand-off and testing.
  • Produce and archive design documents detailing the design process.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to produce marketing material for learning programs.
  • Champion GDIT's L&D Mission and guiding principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree required.
  • 8+ years in Instructional Design/Development or related role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing interactive and engaging e-learning.
  • Track record for delivering measurable performance outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end learning programs with evaluation measures.
  • Experience developing interactive eLearning courses with intuitive interfaces.
  • Excellence with graphics, audio, video, and other multimedia.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate) and instructional technology best practices.
  • Experience implementing 508 accessibility and other eLearning standards.
  • Exemplary communication, relationship building, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Multi-media, video production, and/or graphic design skills and experience.
  • Technical/IT-related learning experience.
