About the position

The E-Learning Manager will lead a talented team in creating and improving computer-based training for the Texas Workforce Commission, which serves over 4,000 staff. This managerial role involves overseeing daily operations, managing multiple e-learning projects, and ensuring the delivery of quality learning opportunities. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring at least one day per week in the Austin office, and emphasizes employee engagement and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the E-Learning Team responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating digital training.
  • Oversee planning, coordination, and organization of training processes, including departmental web sites and accessibility of e-learning products.
  • Manage multiple e-learning projects using effective project management methodologies and tools.
  • Oversee the development of complex documents such as training curricula, proposals, and training plans.
  • Screen, interview, and hire qualified staff for the E-Learning Team.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and recommend personnel actions.
  • Represent the agency at conferences and meetings.
  • Conduct training and presentations as needed.
  • Oversee department operations in the absence of the director.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three years of full-time experience in policy development or implementation in a public or private agency, with six months in an administrative management or supervisory role.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications.
