About the position

The E-Learning Manager at the Texas Workforce Commission is responsible for leading a team dedicated to creating and enhancing computer-based training for over 4,000 staff members. This role involves managing the daily operations of the E-Learning team, overseeing project management, and ensuring the accessibility and quality of e-learning products. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring at least one day per week in the Austin office, and emphasizes employee engagement and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the E-Learning Team responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating digital training.
  • Oversee the planning and organization of training processes, including the creation of departmental websites and ensuring accessibility of e-learning products.
  • Manage multiple e-learning projects using effective project management methodologies and tools.
  • Develop complex documents such as training curricula, PowerPoint presentations, proposals, and training plans.
  • Screen, interview, and hire qualified staff for the E-Learning team.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and recommend personnel actions.
  • Represent the agency at conferences and meetings, and conduct training and presentations.
  • Oversee department operations in the absence of the director.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three years of full-time experience in policy development or implementation in a public or private agency, with six months in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience in e-learning and training development project management.
  • Excellent writing skills and knowledge of accessibility best practices.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing e-learning curricula for adult audiences.
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and web accessibility standards.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and training & development processes.
