About the position

The E-Mobility Utility Coordination Senior Specialist is responsible for facilitating collaboration between the E-Mobility team and other internal groups at Con Edison to enhance the customer experience for electric vehicle (EV) projects. This role involves addressing technical inquiries, ensuring effective communication regarding EV interconnection requirements, and supporting the implementation of the PowerReady program. The specialist will also play a key role in optimizing processes and driving improvements in the EV charging infrastructure across New York City and Westchester County.

Responsibilities

  • Research and answer technical questions about grid impact and upgrades needed for EV charger projects.
  • Collaborate with Energy Services and Engineering teams on processes, procedures, and project-specific issues.
  • Ensure Energy Services and Engineering teams are updated on PowerReady program implementation and status.
  • Present technical information to program participants and prospective participants.
  • Support cross-functional business communications and collaboration between multiple Con Edison organizations.
  • Provide exceptional customer experience for potential or in-flight EV projects by ensuring clear communication between developers and internal teams.
  • Identify needs to optimize and improve process efficiencies and drive implementation of related changes.
  • Support implementation of enhancements to program portal or reporting by identifying business needs from Energy Services and Engineering.
  • Educate business development team, program managers, and participants on technical interconnection topics related to EV charging stations.
  • Collaborate with program teams to identify and anticipate program or EV market/technology changes that could impact operations.
  • Develop communications or recommendations associated with program, market, or technology changes.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on EVSE station site constraints and real estate/leasing practices.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams responsible for new department initiatives.
  • Provide problem solving and strategic support to the EV team for new programs or process improvements.
  • Represent the Company’s interests to internal and external stakeholders as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years' work experience or Master's Degree and 3 years' work experience.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to manage complex customer issues in a calm and professional manner.
  • Agility and flexibility to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communications, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in engineering or sustainability disciplines.
  • Project management and engineering experience.
  • Technical understanding of Con Edison's electric system.
  • Experience with utility new business interconnection processes and operations.
  • 1-2 years project management experience at a utility in electric operations or engineering.
  • 1-3 years of experience in site acquisition and development for EV or clean energy projects.
  • Knowledge of EV charging station operations and economics.
  • Knowledge of EV charging station interconnection procedures.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $125,000 to $135,000.
