About the position

The internship position at MERL focuses on conducting research in the safe and robust whole-body motion planning and control of mobile manipulators. The role is designed for highly motivated individuals with a solid background in robotic dynamics, motion planning, and control, and it offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative research in these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in safe and robust whole-body motion planning and control of mobile manipulators.
  • Develop and implement algorithms for dynamic modeling and motion planning of robotic systems.
  • Collaborate with team members on research projects and contribute to publications.

Requirements

  • Solid background and track record of conducting innovative research in dynamic modeling, motion planning, and control of robotic systems.
  • Strong coding skills in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with robotic software such as Pinocchio, Pybullet, and MuJoCo.
  • Familiarity with optimization tools such as CasADi and PyTorch.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mechanical engineering, robotics, computer science, or electrical engineering at the Ph.D. level.
