About the position

The Eagle U Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the Eagle U area within the camp at Schoepe Scout Reservation. This position involves managing staff, coordinating activities, maintaining facilities, and ensuring a high-quality experience for all campers during the summer camp season.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Eagle U area.
• Manage and supervise area staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Develop and implement program curriculums and activities that are engaging and aligned with scouting values.
• Ensure all activities comply with Scouting America guidelines and safety standards.
• Maintain facilities and equipment related to the area, ensuring they are safe and in good working order.
• Coordinate with other directors and staff to integrate area activities into the overall camp program.
• Handle administrative duties such as record keeping, budget management, and reporting.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and educational environment for campers and staff.
• Address and resolve any issues related to the area or its operations.
• Support overall operations of Schoepe Scout Reservation.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Eagle Scout and/or experience in education.
• Experience in citizenship instruction with youth or adults of various skill levels.
• Available to work all summer and live on site during the summer season.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Have or be willing to obtain membership in Scouting America.
• Have or be willing to obtain Live Scan background check.
• Completion of an annual physical by a medical provider prior to the start of the summer camp season.
