As an Early Career Civil Engineer at WSP USA, you will play a crucial role in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in both the public and private sectors. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including assisting with research, design, concept development, and construction of essential infrastructure such as roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, bridges, water supply systems, and sewage treatment facilities. You will be expected to generate accurate and concise documentation regarding your assigned aspects of the project, ensuring that all responsibilities are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Under general supervision, you will assist in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources, including physical work sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, and geotechnical data. This data will be vital for project development, design, and construction. You will also perform basic professional civil engineering work, which includes conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions to ensure compliance with applicable rules, standards, and permits. Your role will involve routine engineering functions and providing entry-level technical assistance on various design requirements and operating strategies, focusing on the safety and functionality of end-users, systems, and infrastructure. You will verify site characteristics and provide basic technical assistance on engineering, design, and construction issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field/work site notebooks/logs. Compliance with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures is paramount, and you will be expected to complete training on assigned tasks while exercising responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct.
