As an Early Career Civil Engineer at WSP USA, you will play a crucial role in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of various infrastructure projects and systems in both the public and private sectors. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including assisting with research, design, concept development, and construction of essential structures such as roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, bridges, water supply systems, and sewage treatment facilities. You will be expected to generate accurate and concise documentation regarding your assigned aspects of the project, ensuring that all responsibilities are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Under general supervision, you will assist in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources, including physical work sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, and geotechnical data. This data will be vital for project development, design, and construction. You will also perform basic professional civil engineering work, which includes conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions to ensure compliance with applicable rules, standards, and permits. Your role will involve routine engineering functions and providing entry-level technical assistance on various design requirements and operating strategies, focusing on the safety and functionality of end-users, systems, and infrastructure. You will assist in verifying site characteristics and providing basic technical assistance on engineering, design, and construction issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating complete and accurate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field/work site logs, while complying with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures. As part of your professional development, you will complete training on assigned tasks and exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies. You may also be required to perform additional responsibilities as needed by the business.
