About the position

The Early Career Crew Systems and EVA Design Engineer position at Blue Origin is focused on developing sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo to the Lunar surface. This role involves collaboration with diverse engineering teams to provide technical design, CAD, and drawing support for Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and Crew Systems hardware, contributing to safe and reliable crewed transportation to the Moon. The position requires a commitment to quality and safety in the context of space exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify CAD models of lunar vehicle components in Creo Parametric
  • Create Interface Control Models and Interface Control Drawings
  • Deliver geometry to analysis teams in support of structural and thermal analyses
  • Release engineering drawings in Windchill
  • Incorporate drafting standards and standard drawing notes based on company, program, and industry standards
  • Perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field
  • Entry Level, 1 year of relevant engineer experience
  • Experience with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle modeling and drawings
  • Experience with top-down design methods
  • Strong mechanical design and integration skills using Creo Parametric / ProE software and Windchill
  • Proficient in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience in drawing generation, checking, and release processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware
  • Experience modeling and drafting routed systems
  • Experience releasing drawings in aerospace application
  • Experience working in a multi-functional team with engineers, designers, analysts to optimize complex designs.
