About the position

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. As an Electronics and Electrical Systems Engineer I, you will apply broad multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge, skills, and methods as well as computer/software systems to design and engineer the overall systems infrastructure. This includes engineering, implementation, integration, and technical services and support. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, installing, maintaining, and administering infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations. Monitoring overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tuning them appropriately will be a key part of your role. You will also perform root cause analysis on failed components and implement corrective measures, working collaboratively with others to establish and improve processes and procedures. Your projects may involve many aspects of applied electronics and electrical engineering including avionics hardware, software, hardware in the loop, instrumentation & controls, system test, power systems, communication systems, mechanical systems, propulsion systems, manufacturing, and systems engineering. Specific duties will be aligned with our business unit objectives, providing you with a diverse range of experiences and challenges in the field of engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Apply multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge to design and engineer systems infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, install, maintain, and administer hardware and software infrastructures.
  • Monitor overall performance to identify potential issues and tune them appropriately.
  • Perform root cause analysis on failed components and implement corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with team members to establish and improve engineering processes and procedures.
  • Engage in projects involving avionics hardware, software, instrumentation & controls, and more.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed an internship with Blue Origin in 2024.
  • Enrolled or recently graduating student attending a college or university.
  • Able to start working full-time on or before September of 2025.
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or similar discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
  • Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for Blue's Mission with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice-to-haves
