About The Position

WSP is seeking an Early Career Plumbing Engineer to join the California Property & Buildings team on a part-time basis in Irvine, CA. This role involves providing technical assistance for the design, development, testing, and inspection of plumbing systems on various infrastructure and construction projects. The engineer will assist in research, design, installation, and maintenance of plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with design/build processes and plumbing system regulations.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation software.
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Prior internship related to the degree of study.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from physical work sites, surveys, and technical drawings.
  • Perform basic professional plumbing engineering work, including research and inspections of site conditions and equipment.
  • Install plumbing, fire protection, and fluid flow systems in accordance with applicable rules and standards.
  • Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and load calculations.
  • Generate accurate documentation and specifications using electronic systems and field notes.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
