About the position

The Early Career Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position at TikTok's U.S. Data Security division focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of a critical e-commerce platform. This role involves collaborating with engineering and product teams to build and maintain large-scale, fault-tolerant systems while implementing SRE practices to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support the service level of a critical, revenue-generating E-commerce platform and related infrastructure.
  • Implement SRE practices around incident management and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Define service level indicators and data-driven objectives to improve uptime, latency, and system health.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure key requirements are met for service delivery.
  • Automate processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and service resiliency.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems internals and networking.
  • Experience writing code in Java, Go, Python, or a similar language.
  • Familiarity with large-scale system design components such as Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and others.
  • Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
  • Experience developing tools and APIs to reduce manual interaction with systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with running production-grade web services at scale.
  • Understanding of cloud-native technologies and networking.
