About the position

As an Early Career Technical Writer at Gainwell Technologies, you will play a crucial role in creating and refining technical documentation that supports healthcare solutions. This position allows you to leverage your writing skills to translate complex technical information into accessible content for clients, contributing to the improvement of health and human services outcomes. You will work collaboratively with technical teams to gather information and produce high-quality documentation that meets established style guidelines and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads complex technical data for healthcare manuals, procedures, and specifications.
• Assists in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations.
• Interviews programmers, business analysts, developers, and other technical personnel to gather information.
• Reads previous documentation and design notes to compile technical healthcare information.
• Writes, organizes, and compiles online help files to support end users.
• Creates and delivers system/software developmental documentation packages including narratives, logic diagrams, and job setup information.
• Assists in creating project plans for completing documentation.

Requirements

• More than two years of technical writing experience in communications, journalism, or a related field.
• General knowledge of the medical insurance/healthcare field preferred.
• Experience with desktop publishing, word processing, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Familiarity with HTML and basic web design.
• Strong proofreading and editing skills with knowledge of industry writing style.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Adobe FrameMaker and other image software.
• Ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in business solutions software.
