About the position

The Early Careers Administrator at Dechert, LLP plays a crucial role in supporting Legal Recruiting and Early Careers initiatives. This position focuses on the management of the junior associate pool and the Pro Bono Fellowship Program, ensuring effective staffing, utilization monitoring, and evaluation processes. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple projects while providing high-quality service to attorneys and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with reviewing staffing requests and workload assignment process for junior associate pool.
  • Monitor junior associate pool utilization and practice group hours (%).
  • Escalate urgent and high priority assignments as needed.
  • Understand the various practice groups and subgroups to more efficiently assign work.
  • Develop relationships with partners, counsel, and practice group directors to foster trust and confidence in the function and role of administrator.
  • Provide a seamless quality service to lawyers and timekeeping staff.
  • Identify issues that impact the assignment and evaluation process for the junior associate pool and suggest solutions.
  • Maintain and audit Vi Allocation data and update on a daily basis.
  • Support evaluation process for all associates in pool, including real time feedback and twice annual review.
  • Monitor evaluation submissions and generate related documents, including evaluation reports.
  • Liaise and support the Professional Development team on the training calendar and junior associate attendance of training programs.
  • Assist with the final practice group placement process for the junior associates.
  • Coordinate the Pro Bono Justice Fellowship Program; liaise with the pro bono team, external organizations, candidates and internal HR & Ops teams from point of acceptance, through on-boarding and end of year review process.
  • Assist with running quarterly, monthly, weekly, and ad hoc reports.
  • Assist with all other projects and strategic initiatives assigned by Senior Manager & Director.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred
  • 3-4 years of related experience required
  • Understanding of the professional services industry, legal industry strongly preferred
  • Self-motivation, and the ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build relationships and gain the trust of the attorneys
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with people at all levels within the organization and firm
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across offices and practice areas
  • Ability to manage details and maintain high level of organization on multiple projects
  • Ability to receive, distill and manage information from numerous sources
  • Ability to constantly learn new skills as they become necessary
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Committed to providing high quality customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and learning Vi Work Allocation
