About the position

The Assistant Teacher plays a crucial role in supporting the Teachers and the Director in creating a nurturing and safe environment for children. This position involves assisting in various activities aimed at enhancing the overall care and quality of education provided to the children. The Assistant Teacher must possess strong communication skills, be a good listener, and work effectively within a team environment. This role requires active participation in implementing a quality educational program and fostering positive relationships with both the children and their parents. In this position, the Assistant Teacher is responsible for observing and documenting children's interests and progress, and effectively relaying that information back to parents and staff. The role also includes implementing developmentally appropriate activities tailored to the children's interests and needs, all under the guidance of the Teacher and the Director. The Assistant Teacher must engage actively in classroom activities, manage the cleanliness and order of classroom materials, and maintain frequent communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports. Additionally, the Assistant Teacher encourages self-help and good hygiene practices through behavior modeling and helps ensure a smooth daily transition from home to the childcare center. Adherence to all center policies and state regulations is essential, as is maintaining a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement in the role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.

Requirements

  • High energy.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
  • Must be able to work afternoon shift until 6:15PM.
