About the position

The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher at The Midwest Playhouse, LLC is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for preschool-aged children. This part-time role involves developing engaging lesson plans that promote literacy and support the developmental needs of young learners, while ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, using strategies that promote positive interactions among students.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.
• Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through structured activities and play-based learning.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is preferred.
• Strong skills in lesson planning and classroom management are essential.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support diverse learning needs within the classroom.
• Familiarity with private school standards or early childhood education frameworks is a plus.
• A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is highly desirable but not mandatory; relevant certifications will be considered.
• A passion for fostering a love of learning in young children through engaging educational practices.
