About the position

The Assistant Teacher position at Guidepost Montessori involves working with young children aged 6 weeks to 6 years in a Montessori environment. This role is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic and adaptable, with a passion for early childhood education. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and learning about the Montessori method from experienced educators. Both part-time and full-time positions are available, with a focus on creating a nurturing and supportive classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing the Montessori curriculum and classroom activities.
• Support the individual needs of each child in the classroom.
• Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment for children.
• Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues about children's progress and needs.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience working with young children ages 0-6 in a group care environment, such as a daycare, preschool, camp, or aftercare program.
• Valid state background check.
• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• First Aid/CPR Certification.
