About the position
The Early Childhood Intervention Specialist position at Allegheny County's Department of Human Services involves overseeing and coordinating specialized social service functions to support vulnerable community members. The role focuses on contract monitoring and providing technical assistance for Early Intervention (EI) services, ensuring compliance with state regulations and county policies. The specialist will work both independently and as part of a team to enhance early intervention services for children from birth to five years, contributing to policy development and programmatic improvements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate complex social service functions supporting vulnerable community members.
- Monitor contracts between Allegheny County and private agencies providing Early Intervention services.
- Provide technical assistance in accordance with state regulations and county policies.
- Educate providers, schools, and the public on specialized Early Intervention services.
- Conduct audits of EI programs to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Review and make recommendations for programming and policy changes to improve service access and quality.
Requirements
- Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Two years of full-time experience providing early intervention or early childhood services.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
