About the position

The Early Childhood Intervention Specialist at National Children's Center, Inc. plays a crucial role in providing high-quality early childhood education and intervention services for children with and without disabilities. This position focuses on multidisciplinary assessments, service coordination, and family support, ensuring that children receive the necessary interventions to foster their development in an inclusive educational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or are at risk for delays.
  • Assesses family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress; participates in multidisciplinary assessments and interprets test results.
  • Acts as service coordinator for families, developing and implementing intervention plans, and providing information on current trends and practices.
  • Facilitates parent-child interactions to encourage development and assists families in advocating for their child.
  • Interprets assessment results for families and determines eligibility for services.
  • Participates in staff and interagency meetings and completes required documentation and reports.
  • Creates strategies for teachers and families, models appropriate intervention techniques, and conducts classroom observations.
  • Audits and assesses development-based data, ensuring benchmarks are met and sharing progress with staff and families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Early Childhood, Human Development, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or related disciplines.
  • Three years of directly related professional Early Intervention services experience.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination prior to the first day of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Medical Database Management.
