About the position
The Early Head Start Teacher is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of infants and toddlers. This role involves creating lesson plans that align with Early Head Start guidelines, fostering a safe and nurturing environment, and collaborating with parents and caregivers to ensure continuity of care and learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities to promote the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of infants and toddlers.
- Create and follow lesson plans that align with Early Head Start guidelines and promote school readiness.
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment that supports each child's individual needs and interests.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to ensure continuity of care and learning experiences.
- Assess children's progress and communicate effectively with families about milestones and challenges.
- Stay current on best practices in early childhood education and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- CDA in Infant & Toddler or a degree in Early Childhood Education.
- One year experience working with children in a licensed facility.
- Must pass a criminal history and reference check.
